The word 'regulated' didn't mean then what it means now. Of course he knows that but he's a massive, steaming pile of crap, so....

Regulated means well armed and trained.

If this so called judge claims otherwise he's lying.

Unfortunately for him and the uneducated loons that continue to peddle his nonsense, his argument is based on a flawed and now thouroughly discredited "collective right" interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that was popular amongst some legal scholars from the 1960's through late 1980's. All 9 SCOTUS justices rejected that theory in v. Heller. What do think about that?

that's why I mentioned Scalia's opinion arising from Heller

but I'm not sure who really wants that discussion

I think it was unfortunate for him that in 1991 the technology of depends diapers wasn't as advanced as it is today. Bernie, Pelosi and Crying Chuck are able to blather on a lot longer than Justice Burger after shitting their pants in a public forum....

edited to delete some shite....I'm a man of honor and it sounded like I was too confrontational to Apex; I read his post history and he seems genuine....

Sorry if you read anything before the edit, Apex...

I think even Scalia's interpretation was too constraining.

In the 18th century usage of “regulated”, it meant equipped and operating correctly. It did not mean controlled with regulations and orders by and from the government. The right to keep and bear arms belongs to the individual citizen.

Burger voted with the majority in Roe v. Wade. That would disqualify him as a conservative.

As far as the 2nd Amendment protecting an individual right versus a collective right, they were 9-0. The 5-4 split only concerns the scope of the individual right, not whether or not it exists.
