Apple prices may increase because of the massive Tariffs we may be imposing on China - but there is an easy solution where there would be ZERO tax, and indeed a tax incentive. Make your products in the United States instead of China. Start building new plants now. Exciting! #MAGA

Looks like they have hired professional anti-Trump tweeters to silence him.

Do you think beyond that? Like how do you achieve free trade with a country that manipulates its currency in order to artificially cheapen labor? Or how to get countries that are already benefiting greatly from trade deals that imbalance trade in their favor to forego that in favor of your free trade?

Having a goal is nice, but you have to first know how to reach it and your response indicates none of that.

come manufacture domestically, or i'll tax people for buying your stuff!

to sweeten the deal, i'll subsidize you with tax incentives if you come!

You exposed yourself to geopolitical forces when you got into bed with a country that violates trade agreements every chance they get.

If you manufactured in the US you wouldn't be exposed to these forces, I guess your senior management underestimated the risk premium for doing business in a country with nefarious trade policies

This is lazy. Stop pretending like trying to engage China in mutual free trade isnt anything more than sawing you own dick off.

I think most of what is consumed today in Venezuela is manufactured or grown there. Same for Cuba and North Korea and probably some African countries.

Other than those I can't think of any country that makes every thing it consumes or even comes close to producing everything it consumes.

Where does this country exist that is actually modern and has a standard of living as high as the USA that makes all the stuff it consumes?? Serious question.

While your mind is pondering an answer how about explaining why our economy is growing so well while our trade deficit is increasing??? (let me give you a hint--goods that can be produced cheaper somewhere else are being imported and help our economy. They don't hurt it.)

The whole notion that people wouldn’t pay more if it was built in the US is bull shite.

Apple products have risen every single year and consumers eat it up. fricking phones cost damn near $1000 dollars and people line up in droves to get them. The first iPhone was going for like $100.

Given a choice between the same product at different prices based on where it was made I will take the cheaper one every time.

The whole notion that Apple should make less money because the government wants to force them to manufacture here is Un-American.

BUT do not worry. That is not what Trump wants regardless of what he says in his tweet. What he wants is for China to quit mandating Chinese partners for US companies wishing to invest in Chinese plants and he wants the IP of those companies that will operate there to be protected. China is foolish not to accommodate this--why discourage foreign investment in your country-- and as soon as they do these tariffs will go away--IMHO.
