Cool. Looks like a buying opportunity for some of you today.
I will continue my long term strategy of not reacting hastily to short term market volatility.

Can you explain to us who aren’t familiar with stock market terminology, what this means?

When the S&P 500 is trading down 7% for the day, trading is stopped for 15 minutes. There are further stops at -13% and -20%.

Basically, it’s a fail safe to keep the market from cratering over panic. There are two more. One at 15% another at 20% I believe. Both last for 15 minute. After those two, nothing will stop it

They halt trading for 15 minutes when the market is expected to open to high volume and extreme volatility in reaction to some kind of news (bad or good). Sort of their way of saying "sit in the corner and cool down".

It shuts down for the day at -20%.

This gives humans an opportunity to override computer trading.
The introduction of higher order human overview to override fast but thoughtless computer trading is believed to reduce volatility and potential disastrous crashes.
Basically is the fast reaction computer program crash in proportion to the real world cause.
Basically, will enough humans die to make my Wheaties worthless in reality.

The dumbass trader's algo's would trade it down to zero if they didn't override it.

I’ve got a few grand put aside I’m gonna try to wait this out until I think it’s hit rock bottom and dump it in the market. Could make a nice quick buck in a couple months when the Dow jumps back up 7-9k points
