Statement from Gayle Benson on behalf of the Saints and Pelicans

This is the beginning of a longer virtue signaling statement:
One week ago today, George Floyd was tragically and senselessly murdered. Anger, sadness and protest followed throughout our nation in response to this unjust murder. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of George Floyd.
There are no written words, nor the timing of those words that can properly honor the life of George Floyd. We stand against police brutality in any form. Statements are words; unified action towards a solution is what needs to come from this now.
Both the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans organizations take a tremendous amount of pride in working with our players and community leaders to impact meaningful change.
What is it about George Floyd's life should we honor. He has ten prior arrests, has served prison time, no indication he was making any contribution to society. He was being arrested for anothe rcrime and resisted arrest which led to his death.
We can decry the manner of his death, but dying in the way he did does not glorify his life.

I’m glad the saints and pelicans support rioting to get what you want
Posted on 6/1/20 at 10:51 pm to tigersbb
She just doesn't want rioters to burn down the superdome and wherever the pelicans play. Virtue signaling is sometimes the right play.

Definitely no hero, but

Dude was jacked up on Meth and Fentanyl, confirmed, and we treating him like he actually was a Saint. C’mon. I know it looked bad, but that’s the facts, and maybe why he couldn’t comply with the cops...Now everyone is virtue signaling over this....WTF?

That bitch would sell out poor white people in a heartbeat

Yep, but in context of the whole incident and the actual cause of death.

What an insult to the beautiful English language.

Ok. I say everyone should boycott the Saints and support whatever owner takes the tough line.
Yeah! Do. It.
Yeah! Do. It.

White guilt is fricking atrocious.

Well, he wasn't a very good criminal. Or porn star. Or musician. Which part are we honoring?

The real fight that's coming is between whites. The ones that hate themselves and their ancestors and everything they built, and us, the normal ones.

Benson also supports the molesting of children by Catholic priest. She is a fricking smart bimbo who latched on to old man Benson and did not let go.

Poor choice of words.

In this case, it is a mix between kissing up to the league and kissing up to the players, as a lot of them like LeBron see themselves as “woke”.
It’s fricking stupid but unfortunately part of doing business in professional sports given the large numbers of extremely obnoxious SJW athletes involved.
