Aren’t they disarmed by said government? Pretty sure they don’t have the second amendment.
Best course of action imo would be to train a group of Iranian insurgents to topple their government from within.
Use proxies like Iran does. Gives us plausible deniability and keeps our hands relatively clean.

That's not easy in a dictatorship. Whoever controls the military will run Iran. And there are young budding depots who want that gig. Likely will be another "religious guy". Unless we/Israel can wrest the country from the bad guys.
I am comforted knowing Israel had thought this through.
