And we retain the title of "state whose executive has the most Southern accent".

True, but better than the Democrat bag of trash.

The House will have 6 Republicans and 1 Democrat. Nothing will change from our state.

Clyburn has all or part of 17 counties in his district to ensure a black supermajority and him never having to campaign. We only have 46 counties in the entire state and 6 other congressional seats.

How did you SC folks vote on the Sec of Ed election / appointment question?

I was against the appointment option

Arrington will win, Cunningham is no threat to her. She's a female Sanford minus the Hispanic sidepiece.

Voted no, but it doesn't matter anyway. SC's governor is arguably the least powerful executive in the country and I doubt the legislature would ever amend the constitution to give the governor more political power via this appointment.

Totally voted for it. Let the Gov and Legislature hire a professional vs. popularity contest.

Don't understand why you'd vote no on it. We'll have a Republican Governor for decades to come, I'd rather not have some random Democrat bureaucrat get that position and take our schools backwards. Then again, I don't have any kids so it's like 37th in issues I give a damn about.

Nobody ever gave reasons why to vote no on the SecEd amendment. They just said to vote no.

I want our elected officials in Columbia to have less power, and even though this wasn’t giving them power I really dislike the Legislature.

The Governor of SC is already an incredibly weak executive office.

Me too. I'd be ok with a new Constitution to weaken them.
