Sociology Professor To Conservative Student: 'F*** Your Life!'

During a Sociology 105, Intercultural Communication class Wednesday, Brookdale Community College professor Howard Finkelstein grew angry with his student, Christopher Lyle, shouted "f--- your life," and pounded his hand on a table, according to video obtained by NJ Advance Media.
The incident, recorded on another student's cell phone, came after Lyle insisted both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment, said Lyle, in an interview with NJ Advance Media. It is one of many disagreements Lyle says he's had with Finkelstein over the course of the semester. The footage has since been shared on conservative websites, such as unclesamsmisguidedchildren.com, and social media pages and branded as an example of growing liberal indoctrination on college campuses.

I hate that the video starts immediately before the incident and cuts off immediately after. While this isn't appropriate in any context, when you intentionally remove the context, I'm immediately suspicious.

I don't know what your definition of homogenous is but universities are pretty fricking ideologically homogenous.
Conservative viewpoints among university faculty are about as common as they are among blacks

First, the hypocrisy of you talking about indoctrination is not lost on me. Second, if you're being "indoctrinated" in college, you shouldn't be in college. People who try and make this argument are essentially saying that college age students aren't smart enough to make up their own mind.

Even if that's true, that doesn't mean that most professors are standing on a soapbox pushing their political messages. Most professors I know would rather not broach the subject of politics at all.
