No clue... one would expect there would be... I do know the process was completed in less than a year, which makes it a pretty dang fast process in what is normally done over the course of a couple of years...

I don't get focusing on the conspiracy route of "getting out the vaccine" when we now have it out and being administered in large numbers and there are lots of people trying to say nothing should change with doing that.
Seems like some people are misplacing their ire.

Your statement clearly said it was available for distribution in January... try saying things clearly putz...
Now you are switching to March? Which still means it was in a testing phase... Do you not understand that testing actually takes time?

No. I don’t know why you’re hung up on this. I’m not arguing it was ready to distribute in January.
The formulation of it was done within weeks of not days of receiving the mapping of the virus.

Where the "Trump stood in the way conspiracy" falls apart is the fact that they actually believe Trump would have allowed the economy to tank and things to go on for as long as they did...
People like wutang just have severe, lingering TDS... hopefully the shite it fatal...

Gee, maybe because wutang said it was ready for distribution in January, now has switched to March, and that Trump stood in the way of approval of the vaccine for the show and feelings...

If there’s an area where I support over regulation, it’s in vaccines

I don't understand what this guys deal is. I'm not acting like it was fully tested and ready to for a mass roll out. I was just trying to say the red tape and the route they chose to pre-order vaccines below market price was a mistake because you lose the incentives for higher production before it's approved. This is something I just heard from two PHD economists that I agreed with and he is acting like I'm crazy. To this day you can't access the vaccine via private market channels and that is the result of government regulation.

Either the vaccine is 95% effective or it isn’t.
We know that asymptomatic patients are less than 1 in 5 infections.
We know those asymptomatic patients are 25X less likely to spread the disease.
We know that people who are infected have a 99% chance of surviving.
Hey 808,
I heard an interesting interview regarding the efficacy rates of the vaccines from an expert.
She said, to say a vaccine is 70% effective (as was the case with J&J at the start) it implies that you will get the virus 30% of the time. It was 95% effective as well for severe symptoms, meaning you might get a head cold but you would not die from COVID. In other words these vaccines are very effective and there is no reason for this nonsense to continue.

The natural reaction to this messaging is going to be "well what's the point of getting the vaccine?" Its like the commucrats can't begin to fathom life after covid and having to turn loose of the power they've consolidated over the collective.
A lot of the news coming out now from Israeli studies on transmission post vaccination indicate that masks will not be important for those who have been inoculated.
In fact, a lot of news has been trying to make a more concerted effort to be "positive" now. Which, yes probably has a lot to do with who is president, but it's still a nice change.
For too long people were worried about what the vaccine doesn't do without focusing on the good things it does.

Example, per Reuters - LINK
quote:
Data analysis in a study by the Israeli Health Ministry and Pfizer Inc found the Pfizer vaccine developed with Germany’s BioNTech reduces infection, including in asymptomatic cases, by 89.4% and in syptomatic cases by 93.7%.
quote:
A separate study by Israel’s Sheba Medical Center published on Friday in The Lancet medical journal found that among 7,214 hospital staff who received their first dose in January, there was an 85% reduction in symptomatic COVID-19 within 15 to 28 days with an overall reduction of infections, including asymptomatic cases detected by testing, of 75%.
quote:
“Whether it is 75 or 90 percent reduction doesn’t matter - it is a big drop in transmission,” Linial said. “It means that not only is the individual vaccinated protected, the inoculation also provides protection to his or her surroundings.”

I've been vaccinated. I no longer wear my mask when I'm in public. I carry proof in my wallet that I've been vaccinated, and will be happy to show it to anyone who may ask to see it.
