What's sad is this never takes place if they didn't try to remove a fricking statue. Continue to remove history and pander to specific groups only makes shite worse

No one is trying. That statue is going. Also, removing a statue might not be a solid justification in court. But while we're at it, how do you make sense of removing a statue being the cause and not a bunch of people with Nazi and confederate flags showing up anywhere?

I did the ole tear a triangle shape wedge out of a coaster at Olive Garden trick. Affixed it to the bridge of my nose and said "okay, whose the wise guy in here that threw this coaster through my nose?" My kids laughed at that joke for about the 100th time.

This shite has happened it NOLA and attempted in many other places without the Nazi stuff and confederate flags and it still was a shite show.
I am not defending the behavior of those people, I think its wrong personally but people are tired of the pandering to specific groups, race baiting and the removal of essentially all of history because they don't like it.
I don't Hitler and all the horrible stuff he did but what happened was part of history and its important to remember and be educated on it. All these things helped evolve the world into what it is today. The reality is history isn't pretty in general but we shouldn't be removing stuff just because we didn't agree with all the stuff that happened.
If there was a statue of a white person saying white power or a white person with a black slave, then I can say alright, thats too much but just a statue of Robert E. Lee is nothing

Do you really think keeping statues of Confederate leaders is appropriate today? The war was 150 years ago and the confederates lost. Put them in a museum where they belong.

I bet Germany doesn't have a statue if Hitler up in the middle of town. Taking down statues is not erasing history. Put them in a museum for the reason of historical preservation.
