It seems, especially in the past century, we've always been corrupt as frick, just the best at organizing it in a sufficient system.

As long as man runs something, even a country as great as ours, people with the wrong intentions will eventually infiltrate and take advantage of it.

A steaming pile of shite. The Antichrist will rise from the American rubble wrought by progressivism (an Orwellian term). The USA will destroy Israel and its citizens will have the mark of the beast, allowing them to engage in commerce.

End times are near.

Its been the Deep State of America for a long time. There has always been a struggle and money is behind all of it.

The Confederacy, for all its flaws, probably could have done a better job, honestly.

This.

We aren't a Republic.

We are a Bureaucracy.

ETA: We need to repeal the Patriot Act, alas, that won't happen it seems.

It seems the undesirables with ulterior motives gravitate towards high level politics. Politics in the DC Swamp are as filthy as life can get for anyone with a soul. It’s why Senator Zell Miller decided not to seek re-election in 2004, he couldn’t stand the stench from the Swamp anymore. He was one of the last Democrats that was still considered conservative and supported Bush II over Kerry.
