NEW YORK (AP) — The latest twists in the tangled tale of what happened between Donald Trump and an adult film star more than a decade ago have the woman both firmly denying an extramarital affair with Trump and then playing coy about that denial.
Stormy Daniels, the woman who allegedly had a sexual relationship with a then-married Donald Trump in 2006, said in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon that the alleged affair never occurred.
By that night, however, Daniels appeared to disown the statement in an appearance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," saying she didn't know where it came from and the signature didn't look like hers.
In the hours after the show, Daniels' lawyer and public relations manager both reaffirmed her commitment to the earlier denial. They also said she was cancelling a planned Thursday interview on ABC's "The View."

Adding this to the "hey, remember that time when the press said this about Trump that turned out not to be true" list. I may give it an asterisk though since she started the story herself, but I'll bet the media doesn't report the retraction nearly as heavily as they did the initial claim.

Regardless of the truth of the matter, do these issues not get old to you? Doesn't it bother you that the leader of the free world is tied up in a conversation about sleeping with a pornstar? The story didn't materialize out of thin air. Doesn't it bother you that the president is more concerned with public perception and twitter response than actually doing right by the country and bringing people together?
I don't know. I'm not a nevertrump guy, but this shite is getting really old. I'm tired of these stories. I'm tired of Trump tweeting combative bullshite. I'm tired of the media focusing on what kinds of clothes Melania wears. I'm really just sick of all of it, but Trump has brought the vast majority of this bullshite upon himself. It's something new every week, and IMO, most of it is completely beneath the office of president. That seems to be the case with 90% of Trump's doings since he was elected.
If none of the above bothers you, then that's fine. I'm not trying to pick a fight about it. Those are just honest questions. It seems this board will bend over backwards to support Trump no matter what, but to people like me (relatively independent but conservative leaning), it's jut tiresome on all accounts.

yep and then he was impeached for lying under oath. He has also not held a public office since his second term ended. 17 years later and his name comes up constantly with republicans. shite republicans act like Hillary Clinton was president for the last 4 years and everything that happened was her fault. I despise Bush but shite i quit bashing him when he left office.

You're right, he was impeached and he lost his right to practice law in Arkansas. That's admittedly a heavy price to pay.
But I think Clinton still gets bandied about so much because of the soft manner in which the media handled the scandal. Had he been beaten about the head and shoulders a bit by the likes of the NYT and CNN he probably wouldn't be the poster boy of democratic wrongdoing as much as he is today.

Found guilty of perjury.
Paid most of a million dollars for sexual harassment.
Was disbarred in Arkansas. The state that held his law license.
Was prohibited from the Supreme Court of the United States.
Every democratic senator announced that they would vote not guilty of perjury before the impeachment trial even presented evidence.
Back then perjury, sexual harassment, and possible rape was just sex. And now you say it’s just “bashing”. Really?
