Dude is 49 years old, 22 years with the FBI and is set to collect a $55k/year pension...., not too shabby. still young enough to go out and work in the public sector at some law firm with a cush job making 6 figures while knocking down another $55k each year with his government pension. Do these government employees get SS too?. I feel a little bad for him but if he pulled the BS that many think he did while Deputy Director with the FBI he should probably be indicted and jailed along with his cohorts Comey, Rice, Lynch, Strozk, Page, etc.

I hope they send him a check in an envelope every month, and when he opens it, It says ZERO !

Oh yeah, they should put one of those little rattle snake egg doohickeys in the envelope too.

I was surprised to learn his pension was only $55k per year. I guess I figured the #2 at the FBI would retire with a six figure pension.

I guess it's cool. If he doesn't get fired and SS is still around in 18 years he'll be doing pretty decent on the government teat. Probably over $85K combined if he starts taking SS at 67, probably more if there is inflation/COLA protection with that pension.

That's not true. Mother-in-law is retired GS 14. She gets her government pension in lieu of social security. I am retired military and will still qualify for full social security as I paid social security taxes the whole time. Other government (GS) employees do not. Even if they work after they leave government service they are still subject to government pension offset provisions.

Yeah it's probably not as good as a senator, but only 22 years and $55k is not bad.

The government has a savings plan to. So he has that too. Govt retirees get pension, their savings plan, and SS.

Meanwhile General Flynn has had to sell his home to pay legal fees only to plead guilty. And for what?

So frick McCabe and his pension. But we all know sessions will cave.

And he will keep it. You know he will. He either won't get fired, or will "agree to part ways with the FBI". Which sucks.

The tax payer should be responsible for no ones retirement outside of military veterans.

They should have to take that pay check and plan for their future just like the rest of us. Why do I owe someone a retirement check?

Funny how conservatives bash federal government pensions when their heroes in the CIA, ICE, DEA, get government pensions.

I'm being serious, if you applied the law to the letter I would say over 70% of the elected officials in the DC Swamp could be charged with crimes that would place them behind bars. At a minimum they're taking kickbacks and favors from lobbyist that are nearly impossible to trace. After 20-30 years in office the vast majority of these DC Skunks leave the Swamp at a minimum finacially comfortable and some end up quite wealthy....., CLINTONS!!!! Those books and speeches are lucrative.

Should be rather uncomfortable for McCabe to ask for his pension when juxtaposed to what he's done to Flynn and his family.

What people don't realize is that Congress' power of impeachment does reach down to gov officers like McCabe. People like Lois Lerner, Sally Yates, and others to include Hillary, can all be impeached even though they've left office. And, impeachment sentences carried out by the Senate only require a simple majority vote and they have huge leeway in what they can do. The main restriction is that they can't put people in jail.

The most painless way to deal with the corruption of the Obama administration and the Clinton Cabal would be to build a legal case and have the DOJ tell Congress - you can impeach them or we can put them in jail. Congress could impeach, destroy their reputation, give them bars against any affiliation with the gov, and yank the pension. And if they sue to get the pension back, DOJ can make them spend every dime they have in the courts for years.

That's assuming he's not disbarred after Horowitz takes the stage.
