Wtf?! This will just be passed on to us consumers. We'll be circling the drain by the time we get this administration voted out.

They know this is their last chance.

Still buying USA made products. I don't care how much our government wants our industry dead, I'll pay the extra for it.

Businesses dont pay taxes, you do!
People have no clue on how the system really works....ALL costs are passed on to the consumer!

I mean.. yeah.. they just passed a 600 billion dollar bill to curb inflation..
it's like paying 3 percent to transfer 20k to a 0 percent interest (for 6 months) credit card and then continuing to pay the minimum.
They're either dumb as shite or they're doing this on purpose. Time for us to react accordingly.

That’s a untrue oversimplification.

On-shoring of manufacturing is key to the long-term economic health of our Nation. I don’t know how businesses can be coerced into doing this, but it really needs to happen.

So please tell me how raising taxes on corporations will raise wages?

Another trillion in thievery by corrupt politicians…

It is part of the Inflation Reduction Act (aka Financial Sodomy Act).

If a corporation makes a million dollar profit per quarter, and the government increases their taxes to where their profits drop to 800k they need to make up that difference so their stock price doesn’t fall. They can do that by raising prices or reducing cost. So, you either pay more for the product or your neighbor goes on unemployment.

Raising wages will make the recession worse. Raising wages will raise the price of everything.

They know votes no longer matter.

His statement was “businesses don’t pay taxes”. Not “global corporations are destroying the economy and the country”.
As the owner and operator of a small family owned business I can absolutely promise you I pay taxes. And they are currently crushing me. Each tax increase puts me closer to losing everything I’ve built and worked for in my life. Each tax increase only serves to help the foreign owned and operated global national corporations that are my competition.
I agree that global national corporations more easily skirt the problem. But that just compounds my problems because when taxes are raised they can absorb and mitigate the cost. I can’t. And so I have to raise prices to stay in business but then I lose customers because “your national competition didn’t raise their prices” and then I’m called a greedy idiot for raising my prices the bare minimum I needed to to survive and keep my guys employed.

Explain to me exactly how raising taxes increases wages?
You want to improve the economy and your community? Stop shopping at corporations and stop spending money that leaves your community.
