They seemed a little giddy about him talking

Maybe John Bolton can identify the section of the Constitution that says anyone other than the POTUS gets to set and direct US foreign policy.
Or the part that says he MUST listen to his NSC advisers, or ambassadors.
Or the part that says he can't have private citizens engage with foreign countries on his behalf.
Or the part that prohibits him from conditioning foreign aid to the performance of certain actions by the proposed recipient.
BECAUSE NONE OF THE OTHER WITNESSES HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION.

John Bolton will not tell them anything that will make them happy.

That's the other thing.
While this is more of a deep state temper tantrum because Trump didn't do what they wanted, it's also a direct challenge to the authority of the President, and Bolton is all about executive authority when it comes to foreign policy.

Unless it's "Trump told me word for word he was giddy at the thought of the oppo research on Biden he'd soon be receiving" there's really nothing he can help em with.

Peggy Noonan has been a tremendous disappointment

Its almost as though Trump believes that he runs the executive branch of the government or something!

Don't you see it's likely part of the plan to make you believe this.
It would make his testimony much more impactful
Bolton is playing the role of the reluctant witness.
Court dramatically enforces subpoena.
Bolton comes forth with his "I'm a supporter of the President, but I must tell the truth."
Senate Republicans love John Bolton.
Bolton has likely been in on the plot from the get go.
Hopefully the President knows what is going on.
Senate Republicans have been plotting with Pelosi to bring Trump down.
Trump's only chance is if he sees the knife soon enough and exposes it. The knife held not by Pelosi but by the Senate.

What do you think Bolton could possibly say to sink the President?

What could his eyes have possibly seen that could torpedo Trump?

I will be extremely disappointed if he does. IN fact if Bolton lays out anything significant against Trump = I will give a LOT of credibility to it.
Bolton has always been on of my favorites - Never seen him say anything that sounded inauthentic to me.
I can respect that he got at odds with the POLICY of Trump in some significant way and resigned/fired as a consequence - but I do NOT believe he will try to make a mountain out of a molehill in EITHER direction.
Policy differences are not impeachable or criminal - make your case and either support the decision-maker or resign = that simple.

Do you have inside information or is this your opinion? Seriously not a good look for John Bolton, like him or not, he appears to be a straight shooter.

Democrats moving forward on this flimsy case makes absolutely no sense at all.......unless they know they will get the outcome they seek, Trump's removal.
Any other outcome will end in a tremendous victory for Trump.
Coupled with the knowledge that Republicans in Senate want Trump gone and they are deluded.
They believe they can survive dumping Trump. They are clouded by their bubble and how much they dislike Trump.
Bolton was in the White House for 17 months.....He sent that guy "to the lawyers" on this Ukraine shite. Called it a drug deal.
Signed $2 million book deal.
Merits of the case mean zip.
Both sides rushing this to the Senate.
Dems need to get on with primaries. Reps need to get to rebuilding.
Senate has done nothing to fight for or defend Trump.
Will the plot fail? Possibly but only if Trump's team has caught on.

and then only if he demanded it from Ukraine in the first place
There is not one thing wrong with Ukraine volunteering it.
"Oh no, President Long Name I can't Pronounce, even though you have irrefutable evidence of high level American officials being corrupt to the core I cannot listen to it."
That's bullshite. Somehow the democrats have criminalized (or are trying to criminalize) finding out about anything criminal they did.
That goes back to the bitch's emails. All the concern was about who had them, not the fact that she was selling influence and laundering money through the sham foundation.
The quickest way for the Ukrainian president to gain favor and prove he is fighting corruption like he said he would is to help clean all this shite up.

Bolton isnt going to frick over Trump. It would be career suicide. No one would ever trust the guy again, in any capacity.

That's an interesting theory. There is a much simpler and plausible alternative theory that takes into account the House Dems' continued pursuit of the matter even in the face of a flimsy case:
House Dems have sought to confuse voters by piling on witness after witness who merely give personal opinion and interpretation, then Schiff, MSM et al follow it all up each and every available instance with the ominous conclusion, albeit not even close to being proven.
But most voters, unless they're a lawyer, don't grasp the level of non-credibility and unreliability of the Dems evidence thus far in terms of the satisfactory level of proof.
But Schiff, Pelosi et al can conclude their efforts with selling the perception to the public that the evidence is beyond rock solid....which it wont even be watery diarrhea - yuck.
Away it goes to the Senate where they correctly vote it down with ease. Dems then attribute that to mere politics and "Republican allies of Trump let him off the hook even in the face of rocl solid evidence."
And therein lies the goal....voters' uncertainty about Trump's innocence and take that into the voting booth with them.
**But that plan would/will fail, regardless of how complex it is. Voters see through it.
