I don’t mind Juneteenth all that much.
If you really think about it, as a nation we should have a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the US.
Maybe we could use the holiday to focus our efforts on ending present-day slavery worldwide. That should be the real legacy of the holiday.
But we won’t. We know we won’t. It will just be another day wasted on something people will forget about or ultimately misunderstand.
On concept, though, it’s the right thing to do.

It's been a tx state holiday for a long time. It's the day the news, that slavery was over, got to slaves down in Galveston.
The left has turned this into an anti-white and Anti-American holiday. Plain and simple. Companies posting the pan-african flag and playing the black national anthem.
The republicans just signed off of the the future seperation of this nation. If you don't stand up and sing their anthem to their flag you will be a racist.
I grew up with it as a holiday so it's no biggie to me, but the lefties have taken it to another level towards the distruction of this nation. Many blacks hate this nation, and don't see July 4th like others do.

Wow. So July 4th is the white holiday and Juneteenth is the black holiday? That is extremely polarizing….and depressing.
Both races will disdain the other holiday going forward. What a shame.

If you look at how they are celebrating this new one you'll see how it will end up....if you are capable of looking past your nose.
I mentioned in another thread how a few years ago I said "Happy Independence Day" to a black girl at the store, and she essentially told me it's not her holiday. I had no clue that was even a sentiment in that community. So yes this will cause a seperation in this country.

Within a decade no one will get the day off for July 4th and it will not be known in any official capacity as Independence Day. Trying to say it is, will be viewed as racist.

Exactly. Firework shows will be move to this day, and cities will say there's no money for it on July 4th.
