So... Roseann Barr fired over racist tweet. Smollet on deck.

This is well beyond a tweet. This is the kind of thing that tears at the very fabric of race relations in our society. Innocent people could have been attacked somewhere by misguided individuals seeking revenge for a brother that was jumped by white folks.
Except for someone white being directly involved... this has every element of a hate crime. Hopefully he is prosecuted for one.
Will he be shunned from Hollywood like Roseann Barr? Will he be fired from Empire by Fox? Will he work again?

You have to weigh the good and the bad. Sure he broke the law but he started a conversation too. Who are we to say which carries more weight?

Race will definitely play a role in his judgement by the law. Just not the way we think it will. His race will allow him a mulligan of no criminality unlike a person of a lighter color.

Maybe no riots, but I would bet there was negative reactions against people thought to be Trump supporters. Those action simply didn't make the level of being news worthy.
