When I was in orientation for college, a kid asked one the speakers why do engineers need to take so many classes in liberal arts (he didn't use that term but it's what he meant).
The speaker responded that even engineers need to be able to carry on conversations at cocktail parties. This was his real answer.

It's no wonder that college graduates don't have the skills to get a good job or even deal with everyday life issues. Makes me think of the Mike Rowe quote...

The university's initials are WSU. I can't see this flying in Utah so that eliminates Weber St. I would assume Washington St. though I suppose Wichita St. would also be possible.

You cats are out of your element. McNair was already a veteran astronaut before STS-51-L, having flown an 8-day mission on STS-41-L in 1984 (also on Challenger, the workhorse before the accident). He was the second African American to fly in space (first was Guion Bluford who served as a mission specialist on STS-8, also on Challenger).
