I guess that’s one way of looking at it.
Another would be that as long as we’re in Syria, it’s our problem. Pulling our troops back gave Turkey what they wanted but couldn’t get as long as we were there (buffer zone). Combined with pressure from their other major ally Russia, the impetus was finally on them to handle ISIS instead of undermining Syria.

I’m saying Turkey is largely responsible for ISIS in the first place and that any intel gathered won’t be tangibly important in regards to our strategy in the Middle East.
My previous commentary in the thread has nothing to do with Trump or his relationship with Turkey.
