I’m so happy BLM’s advocacy led to police having to wear body cams. Everyone already knew that there were a few rotten apples, but the BLM narrative was that all cops are racist and bad. This led to police having to wear body cams and the Dims were happy, until body cams showed that 99.9999999999% of police interactions were done lawfully and respectfully unless the suspect proceeded to flee or attack an officer.
There were stories about people claiming they had racist and discriminatory interactions with police. The department would then release the body cam footage to show the cop was very polite and sometimes even just let the offender go with warning and not write a ticket at all.
This also led to the few legit bad cops being caught and dealt with.
It’s a win/win.
So thank you, Dims. Body cams are amazing. Wish they had them sooner.

This is the first time Democrats have ever done anything that was smart.

Definitely. Except they regret it because it did the opposite for them lol

It's actually a win/win/win.
Most bad cops are dumb. But not dumb enough to do anything wrong with the body can running. So body cams exonerate good cops, expose bad cops, AND deter bad cops.

This. Dems aren't big fans of harsh truth being revealed.

You mean the people in charge of the cameras, the footage, and the narrative are usually the ones who benefit the most? I’m shocked I tell ya. Keep in mind just how many of the the more disturbing cases of police violence actually made it to the public because a bystander caught the footage on a cell phone. Hell, we wouldn’t have even known about the psychopath who shot a damn chihuahua if a private citizen wasn’t rolling video. Personally, I’m just as, if not more concerned with the way law enforcement investigates crime and builds cases. Let me know when detectives and prosecutors do their work with a body cam and I’ll be interested.

BLM could’ve gotten more and had wider support had they not made it about race. I listened to a BLM speaker when they first came out and the things they said they wanted, I.e body cameras, more accountability, when you do wrong actually getting fired instead of just demoted, etc, wasn’t bad and a lot of people would’ve gotten on board. I mean, most everyone has a douchebag cop story. But the quickest way to lose support for anything is make it about race.

Am just waiting for the dumbass socialist, especially the ACLU, to argue that the cops body cams, which they screamed for, is now a violation of their privacy...

We should put them on all elected officials next.

Just keep in mind its still relatively easy for them to be turned off, deleted, lost, malfunction, etc. Same with dashcams. Also there have been multiple police unions that are against their officers wearing them.

All three are scumbags. Your point?

But in the jurisdictions where they have worn them the EXACT opposite of what liberals predicted has been revealed.
Dash cams have revealed that in the overwhelming majority of interactions with the police, the police did their jobs professionally.
