What are your thoughts? Personally? Constitutionally?

No. Cloture votes should end. Make the bastards stand there and speak to truly filibuster.
Anyone that believes the dims won't exercise the nuclear option (end filibuster) next time they're in majority is delusion, dishonest, or both. I want Trump and the Rs to get 51 votes and go in dry....

Yes
If the Senate becomes a body of government where a simple majority is all it takes to pass legislation, then abolish the Senate.
We already have that body of government, called the House of Representatives.
Repeal the 17th!

Yes, those senate rules have been in place for cuck cover and a means for elites to divert the will of the people, nothing more. Romanticized as a tool for the underdog while in reality an excuse to go in dry on the common folk.

Umm, that’s how the Senate was created to act. Unless you’re still living under the Articles of Confederation.
It’s not exactly in the Constitution that every law should only require a simple majority to pass but it’s how Madison and Hamilton proposed it to act. They saw it exactly as what it was...giving minority rule. They spelled out everything else that should require 2/3 vote.
It’s only by loophole that son of a bitch Burr opened the door to filibustering every controversial bill.

It's been this way for over 200 years.

yes
and "the filibuster" will not be dead
the bastards will just have to do it the way it is supposed to be done; by speaking on the floor as long as they can in an effort to delay the vote...

Yes.
It’s just a senate rule. The constitution speaks nothing about cloture votes. It’s a modern senate rule so senators can avoid the hard work of real filibusters.

No. If it isnt worth building consensus and having compromise to accomplish, then it isnt worth accomplishing. If that results in a government shutdown, so be it.

Congress needs to figure out how to work together.
When is the last time democrats really compromised? Having crazy extreme legistlation pass by the dems is what gets them voted out.
Honestly with the republicans new tax legistlation and the economy going up there is nothing to be upset about unless you just have a victim mentality.

It completely baffles me that people do not realize that this filibuster is a modern rule.
