I have a friend that claims that the world started going to hell in a handbag ever since the 19th was passed. He claims that the influence of today's agressive feminists is a major source of the conflicts within our nation.
What say you? Does he have a point? Or is it just that his wife is a loudmouth bitch and he is henpecked?

Repeal either the 17th or 19th. The Senate as designed in the framing was a check against emotional mob rule. Direct election of Senators was a huge step toward democracy and socialism.

Adding the 19th Amendment and womens propensity to vote with emotion was what could turn out to be the death blow to our Constitutional Republic. Yeah, it will have taken over a century to happen, but Progressivism is by definition the VERY long game.

ETA forgot to add... repealing the 17th can go a very long way to mitigate the consequences of emotional voting resulting from the 19th. Also, liberals and the education system have produced millions of estrogen producers with dicks, so repealing the 19th will still leave a lot of emotional voters.

Wednesday is one of the dozen brightest posters on this forum. Perhaps she can share her thoughts on this idea of revoking her right to vote.

It’s “hell in a handcart”, not hell in a handbag.

The 19th Amendment isn't the issue, I honestly don't think you can lay the blame on a single issue.

It's mostly postmodernism trying to tear apart every pillar this country is built on. But that won't get very far if academia wasn't swallowing it hook line and sinker. More people would know what a disaster it is if the media wasn't carrying water for it's policies, placing blame on anything but the actual cause or in some cases outright denying there's a problem at all.

I firmly believe societies go through cycles, and the point we're at is "strong times breed weak people".

My advice: Hold on tight, within the next few decades it's going to get pretty shitty. I hope I'm some backwards hillbilly and the progressives are bringing the utopia they think they are, but I doubt it.

I’d rather just go back tying voting rights to owning land/property.

Without the 17th, a state can use gerrymandered state districts to appoint a government not equitably representative of its people, thereby appointing two senators not equitably representative of its people. It’ll stay for this reason, and that’s good.

Universal suffrage has been very harmful to the republic.
