No. I think prostitution should be legal, taxed, and health-regulated. I think it should be legal, but it's not. But what I think doesn't apply to the laws as they stand. As a sitting US Senator who ran and runs on a family values platform he is the sham that people purport Mary Landrieu to be. That fact that people in the conservative wing can ask this question about Landrieu and propriety is ridiculous. She's not a saint, but she's not a fraud.
Well said. Landrieu isn't pretending to be a sanctimonious teetotaler. I would have a lot more respect for Vitter if he proposed legislation to legalize prostitution. That's the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Barney Frank supported gay right legislation while Larry Craig and Mark Foley opposed it. Wendy Davis supports pro-choice legislation while Scott DesJarlais opposes it.
EDIT: There are as many Democratic adulterers, whoremongers, drug addicts and alcoholics in D.C. as there are Republicans, but 99% of the sanctimonious hypocrites have an "R" behind their names.

Solid. I am impressed.
I mean the list is solid and I'm impressed you have an informed view - something uncommon.
I don't necessarily agree. Just glad you have something to back up your opinion.

I'm pretty sure refusing to serve someone a beer is a bigger jinx.

What is the "Socialist Democratic Party" ?

I don't know, I'm still at a lost as to why we lost that game, it seems some cosmic explanation is better then any.

Since the US Democratic Party is now affiliated with the rest of European left parties in the Progressive Alliance the majority of whom are affiliated with former members of the Socialist International, I thought I would get ahead of them on the re-branding.

David Vitter sleeping around with whores has no impact on your life or mine so why should we give a frick if that's what he wants to do?

Please apply that same logic to the morons giving Mary a hard time for holding a tap.

I do.
It's harmless but blatant pandering that really shouldn't impact how people vote. If people were to be swayed by something so inconsequential like this, they should not be voting at all.

Classier than cavorting in a whorehouse wearing diapers.

That's all the dems have huh, bashing Vitter in a race he isn't even in?
Oh well, Vitter was good enough to be a Mary prop too.
This race isn't about Vitter, nor is it about Mary helping some late 20s stuck in his frat phase do a keg stand. This about Mary and Bill. Who is going to represent LA's interests and who isn't?

Agreed. However that's what this thread is about.

To me, the photograph is less about the morality of a Senator assisting with a keg stand as it is about this:
Don't you just love it when every six years or so Mary Landrieu shows up at a LSU game to pretend that she gives a shite about you, or feels any commonality at all with you?
Landrieu tailgating at a LSU game as though she actually wants to be there is pandering at its finest.
Yeah, I know she's an LSU alumnae. I'm not debating her right to be there. I'm just saying, where's the bleed-purple-and-gold Mary that talks all the time about how much she loves her alma mater and tailgating and football, like the rest of us? Because that's what she wants you to see... when re-election time rolls around.

I don't like Mary and I will not vote for her, but this has nothing to do with it.

quote:That is a good reason to vote against David Vitter, but he is not running against Mary Landrieu. Bill Cassidy is, and he doesn't have the same baggage as David Vitter.
I would rather our Senators patronize football games instead of whorehouses, because one is much worse than the other and is a crime by law.
I don't have a problem with Mary Landrieu attending LSU games, going to tailgate parties or even assisting in keg stands. I have a problem with it being an obvious campaign stunt. Mary Landrieu doesn't socialize with your run of the mill Tiger fans, unless they just happen to frequent Washington, D.C. and contribute large amounts of money to Democrat causes or Mary Landrieu's re-election.

I'm already in the Landrieu camp.
This keg stand business is retail politics. The crowd and kid wanted her to join in the fun. I wouldn't push this to hard if I was the GOP. Drinking is part of our culture in South Louisiana and Mary has been successful in bringing in votes out of Acadiana.
