Now.

Gen X was also the generation of grunge and slacker culture.

Things change over 30 years and most people are more well-adjusted at 50 than 20.

I was in public school in the 70s and early 80s, my education was quite conservative.

In fact, my Civics and Free Enterprise classes were the most influential classes I took in HS or college, outside of economics. Both teachers were men, coaches actually.

We're not talking about people's ages and maturity. We're talking about generational differences. I hypothesize that there are more wack-a-doos both before and after Gen X. Age has nothing to do with it.

Gen X is typically considered to be 1965 to 1980, so I would be "late" Gen X. Tell me, what should I and my elementary school classmates have done to stave off the department of education's slow destruction of our school system?

Gen X also let the schools get indoctrinated.

The Department of Education is responsible for the current state of our school system. The oldest Gen X'ers were 15 years old when the DoE went into operation. What should those high school freshmen and sophmores have done?

How exactly in the frick did X "let" the schools get indoctrinated? That shite starts in college academia and trickles down to grade school. We're the ones raising hell to the teachers and the school boards right now.

Their are shittty people in every generation...as well as sensational people. The key is getting the good people to organize and kick the asses of said shittty people.

Alas, that is a high goal as most generations views are colored by our biases. We have let the scum progressives divide us.

The infiltration began in the 70s. It took the Marxists several years to move up the ladder and start gradually rewriting the curriculum.

It was a well planned and coordinated effort and those who tried to sound the alarm were called conspiracy theorists.

It's a funny little video, but the 8th place trophies and whatnot were already becoming popular in the early 80s.

The reason kids are messed up today is secularism. People got so wrapped up in the rat race that they stopped caring about anything other than making money and taking out loans to buy even more expensive junk. God got left by the wayside.

I agree. The hippy generation really took slacking off to a whole new level.

That was boomers that started that shite.

I was born in that grey area December 1963, I always considered myself a Gen X-er...

You see some sites say Gen x starts in 1960, some say 1962 and some say 1965. I got out of HS in '82 and grew up with 80's movies.

No way on earth would I have given my kid a participation trophy.

Why did you not quote my earlier part?

Gen X is the grunge/slacker generation. PLENTY of wack-a-doos in both population cohorts.

What Gen is someone who was born in 1938? Does any entitlements accrue with old age?

(Asking for a friend.)
