The GOP DA got replaced by a Democrat. She (R) refused to say anything negative about her opponent (D) because "we don't do that." Meanwhile, he trashed her in his campaign. The GOP isn't willing to fight. The GOP also had terrible voter turnout; something like 22%.

Also shocking, the county sheriff was up for election and the Democrat candidate ran UNOPPOSED! You mean to tell me that the GOP didn't even bother to find someone to run?

So, those of you that live in Shelby County, TN, I hope you enjoyed your consitutional rights while you had them. You really need to get off your arse next time and quit living in your false sense of security. It's time to rock the boat and too many people are treating things as life as usual. Enjoy all of your future mandates.

FYI - I'm not a republican and have never had any confidence in that party to ever fight for liberty. This is just one example of how the GOP is not willing to fight at all for this country and are asleep at the wheel.

I couldn’t believe Memphis had a Republican DA in the first place.

I’m betting some redistricting aided the dem.

Shelby county is not the same as Memphis... but they are about to be.

Meh, Memphis is already so far gone that I don't think this will really matter.

Now, once this starts to affect Germantown and Collierville, that's when you'll see the baws there spring into action.

It’s over 50% black. It’s a miracle that any Republican was elected there.

It does. It's the county DA and the county sheriff.

Sounds like they cut their losses, unfortunately.

I'd argue that the burbs have become redder. Go to Collierville and you'll see Trump flags and signs everywhere. I think the Covid BS pissed everyone off.

I know. Once the uptick in crime is noticed, that's when you'll see a higher than 22% turnout.

Obviously the people of that county doesn't give a shite about crime, property value, increased taxes, etc. Let them reap what they sow.

With Memphis' ability to annex like it does, I guess the folks in Germantown and Collierville and Millington figure, why bother?

This is typical GOP

They're afraid to fight but they try to disguise their fear as some sort of virtue by saying they're "above it" when they're just cowards

There have been rumblings of Collierville holding a vote to become part of Fayette County.

Is that even possible?

With all due respect, no they won’t.

Don't know on that, but I suspect that would have to be something done in Nashville primarily, provided Fayette county did not have problem.

Then come the lawsuits from Shelby County and potentially citizens .
