With Twitter's apparent new no tolerance policy against anything non-left, it would seem that there is a huge opportunity for some company to come up with a similar platform that isn't completely douchified. It would make gazillions..although I'm sure the tech Giants would make it very difficult to get into the marketplace. Why don't one of you smart bastards hop on this...

They are already trying to shut out a competitor.

Companies have tried and have gotten locked out of the market.

Gab.ai, a twitter competitor, was locked out of the market by Google.

I don't think people realize how small twitter is compared to platforms like Facebook

And a lot of people on twitter only "follow" things on twitter and don't post any type of content

A well thought out platform could make twitter irrelevant quickly

That is the insane thing about Google's stance. The company isn’t involved in hate speech, but they get completely shut out if the market anyway.

It would be like Walmart getting banned because David Duke buys T-shirt’s from them.

It looks like we, the right, are being taught a powerful lesson on the importance of our 1st amendment. Now we know why it was the 1st amendment because if they silence us, we can’t fight back peacefully. Freedom of speech is t protecting speech we agree with, it’s peotecting the speech we don’t agree with.

It's going to take competition with Google to do any good it seems. Not such a simple undertaking but one that IMO someone could make a mint doing IF they are willing to fight the roadblocks you know will be thrown up in their way.

Yep - I remember all those upstart phone companies that pestered Bell Telephone back in the 50s.

Conservatives are going to have to spin up their own internet to keep their safe space in tact.

I think there will have to be a well financed effort to go after Google accusing them of violating Antitrust laws along with a competitor startup. People in the present political atmosphere would flock to it.

If such a thing could be done Google Facebook and Twitter would be devastated in short order

There's going to have to be considerable regulation of the social media platforms, just to curb their abuses. They're practically a public utility at this point.

Don’t be so gleeful.

This is how ISPs end up as public commodities.

No. It would be like Walmart getting banned because one Walmart store allowed someone to sell David Duke T-shirts in the parking lot.

Sadly, most people have no idea what Gab.ai is and, as a result, do not care that it has been pushed off the 'known' internet.

It was shut down? I just looked it up in my browser on my iPhone and LINK. What am I missing?

I wouldn’t join it or any social media regardless.
