What's the word they are saying is "a human right"? It almost sounds like "housing". If so, wtf are they protesting?
NM, they were protesting the repeal of the "head tax" which would tax large corporations at $275 per employee per year to fund homeless shelters and programs. Amazon (and a few other companies) said they would cease expansions in Seattle (and possibly move) if this wasn't repealed.

She was the same one who voted no in the original vote, not because she disagreed with the head tax, but because she didn't want to approve the $275 compromise. She wanted the $500. And she actually wanted more than that. Her proposal was $1k.

Do these idiots really think taxing their largest tax revenue producers like this is going to help them? You can’t hold these companies hostage and one of two things will happen. Easiest will be hey simply move outside of Seattle inton suburbs like Bellevue, Redmond, and Everett. The next step is out of the state completely costing them even more money.
You aren’t going to fix housing markets being overinflated by taxing companies. There are other routes that exist, each with disadvantages, but those don’t drive out tax revenue-generating mammoths.
I miss Seattle, but some of the people there remind me why I may not move back.
