And here we go!

The justices will hear oral arguments in perhaps the most closely watched appeal so far this term, pitting religious conviction against anti-discrimination laws.

This sounds like a spoof case scrolling as a ticker on the bottom of a tv in the background of the movie Naked Gun

Too bad it’s real

This is where we will get our money worth from a Trump presidency.

Can the family that was ruined be made whole again?

I think the melts from the left will ratchet back up on this one

Let's hope, because if not protected, we are about to see a huge shift in attacks on Christian businesses and churches

Too bad our country has fallen to the point that a case like this is even necessary

I can't really remember the specifics of this case, but wasn't this cake bought at a private business?

It's like that sign that says "no shirt, no shoes, no service", because the store believes in not serving people who aren't properly dressed. However, in this case, the people's religious beliefs were such that they didn't want to serve a gay couple at their private business.

Gay couple should have just went to another store. That's the beauty of our country.

I feel like the SCOTUS will rule in favor of the baker. It would seem that they just need to prove that they rejected the gay couple's request solely because of where it would be used (gay wedding) and not because the people were gay.

If two gay people wanted a cake for a KKK meeting and were rejected by the baker, then I don't feel like this case would have even made it to the courts.

I don't believe the melt has dropped below flood stage in the last year.

This was a wedding cake. The baker's defense is specifically that they serve gays. Their problem is being a part of the wedding process.

The real answer to this problem is for the bakery to not stock any gay cake toppers. Makes the topper a special order item.

"Let's see, shipping, handling, that'll be an additional $150,000 for your cake sirs/ma'am's."

Should be a simple case. Ridiculous that this even makes it to SC.

I noticed these homos never go into a Muslim bakery to demand such things.

Or use salt instead of sugar for the cake.

They want to create/force social change, not get thrown off the roof.

Actually, it's worse than that. The bakers agreed to sell them a stock wedding cake..no problem, but not custom designing one for them, because that would put their personal creative energy into it and by doing so sanction it, which is against their beliefs.

Still waiting to hear back on the case from LA involving entering without a search warrant, destruction of property, arson, and sexual assault with a concrete dildo.

Welcome to the New America, where when you open a business, you are forced to do things you don't want because a gay couple is too privileged to go to another bakery.

I agree. The whole argument of it being a public business and therefore they must not turn down anyone who wants their service would, most likely, not apply if a person wanted the services of a law firm that specialized in environmental law that was fighting for organizations like the Sierra Club. "I want to retain your services to fight for my oil company against the environmentalists", I would suspect they would refuse on the basis of it goes against their personal beliefs and cause.
If the person then tried to fight it in court, it would most likely not make it to square one. Why? Because the legal firm would be right, and so are the bakers.
