Schumer wants a shutdown, even if it’s a very brief one, because he believes correctly that most voters will blame Republicans no matter what. All he can do is benefit from it.

If all the Republicans vote yes with several red state Dems and the govt shutdown then Trump can turn the tables. Problem is Graham and other Rinos want Immigration too or no deal.

I'm glad Trump cares more for the welfare of the country than media optics and is trying to bring some sanity to our immigration policy. Wouldn't it be nice if Democrats pursued policies that benefit the country rather than policies they perceive to benefit their party?
