They should be non-partisan and objective in evaluating the evidence.
Does that mean that Schumer will vote to acquit if the preponderance of evidence leans that way? Anyone wanta guess the odds that Chuck will surprise us all and vote for acquittal?

Just let the first hand witnesses talk.

Enough whining about 2nd hand testimony.

Does Schmucky mean "open" as in the way the House conducted their shampeachment inquiry/hearing?

Screw him. He needs to practice what he preaches and have a talk with his peers in the House.

I can absolutely guarantee the R senators' minds are a good 50% more open than Schumer or Harry Reid was on their most open-minded day ever serving.

Valid point. The Constitution outlines no evidentiary standard. A Senator can vote to convict because Trump wears his neck tie too long.

While technically true, it is clear that up until recently no one actually considered APPLYING such a fricking idiot level of silliness to impeachment.

If they had, we would have had SEVERAL Presidents removed before now.

And then vote for removal since he's guilty. Right? Right?

Schumer says whatever is written on his index cards. It would be hilarious to have some MAGA spy sneak in and swap out his OMB cards for OMgood ones. Schumer would never notice and just read what was on the cards.

OK, so is there a chance Schumer will vote for acquittal? If not, then he's not being open minded.

Clearly, this is what the founders had in mind.

So Eric Ciaramella, Schiff and his bug-eyed staff, Atkinson, and Vindman for the limited purpose of answering the pubs' questions that Schiff refused to allow be answered, so that we can finally learn the full extent of the coup plotting that went on.

Agreed.

Incrementalism.

Billy Jeff did not do anything that would justify impeachment on the merits either, though lying about an extramarital affair in a depo is certainly worse than anything Trump seems to have done.

The next impeachment may WELL be based upon necktie color.

Sad.
