Savage tribesmen murdered an American Christian missionary

Of course CNN has twisted the article.
This is an island off India that has not been modernized and attacks any outsider who attempts to make contact with them. They're essentially living in caveman times.
I can agree the missionary shouldn't have gone there, but it didn't warrant a death sentence. Those savages need to pay. I wish we'd deploy the Navy out there.

Guy sounds retarded but I'll bet CNN would be singing his praises if he'd gone there to preach the merits of dude secks and trannie fashion.

It’s illegal in India to go there for this specific reason. They’re just trying to live their lives and defend their island. The US government doesn’t have a play here.

Thread has been going all day about it on the OT. This was my response there:
“The Sentinelese are widely known for being one of the last (mostly) uncontacted tribes in the world. They got this reputation because they literally try to murder anyone who lands on their island.
They’ve attacked passing helicopters.
Anyone who believed they would show up and preach there because they were protected by the baby jeebus is a special level of arrogant/crazy/stupid.”

I've seen my liberal "friends" on social media post about his death in a joking way. Horrible.
Guy shouldn't have been there, but also shouldn't have been killed. I feel the same way about Otto Warmbier.

Yep, I've heard of them through several different documentaries and they will attack and kill literally any outsider that lands on their island, even shipwrecked and stranded ones there by accident. Several countries had tried to send outreach in the past but all ended up dead, so it became an unwritten rule to just let them be.
They gathered on the beach and shot arrows at the last helicopter that flew over trying to film the island. Why a missionary thought they could go and get through to these people is idiotic regardless of their benevolent intentions.

Well their country is technically India, which doesn't attack people on sight. Just these particular savages. They need to be dealt with. They need to be de-armed and pacified to the rule of law. But you'd need a spine to see that.
