Another congressional official, familiar with the contents of the memo, said it was the FBI and DOJ, which refused to disclose or provide documentation requested by the House Intelligence Committee since early last summer. The congressional official said, “it was only when the committee warned of contempt of Congress did Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to turn over the necessary documents used in the committees’ review of the alleged FISA abuses by the FBI and DOJ.”
“They are sparing no expense at trying to stop this memo from being released,” the congressional official said. “You have the Democrats, media and the deep state trying to stop the memo from going public and if they can’t they are preemptively trying to discredit it.”
House Intel Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) responded to the FBI’s statement in a press release Wednesday.

Yes it is. This “FBI poring over memo at White House” story appears to hurt at first glance, but actually cements the legitimacy of the memo once released.

Also, after this news cycle, it will no longer be the “Devin Nunes memo” or the “Republican-crafted memo”. It will be a memo read and approved by the FBI and NSC, just after a week of people praising the honesty and integrity of the FBI.

Just stated that confirmed to her that some higher ups are doing their best to cover it up.
1- They want to postpone so they can paint a picture to discredit the memo to clear them.
2- McCabe did indeed ask agents alter 302s.. That is a huge violation.

Is it just me or is the FBI/DOJ making this worse? Wouldn't a better look be to allow the Memo to come out and then say that there is nothing that supports it's contents vs. this 24/7 drama to stop the release? This seems almost like a setup to hype the Memo even more?

You'd think democrats would want to end the deep state also. That perfect unity democrats seem to have doesn't happen naturally.
I refuse to believe that the entire democrat party just happens to be that far left. I'm more inclined to believe some of em are being blackmailed. Who knows.

Carter and gaetz seemed not as chipper as they have been. Still hammered their points but I have a bad feeling it's over and a deal has been made to protect FBI. They'll be a few heads that roll but this isn't draining the swamp. Hope I'm wrong.

Are they trying to give Trump some cover for choosing not to release it? The decision is up to him and him alone at this point, after all.

Therein is their problem...they can't "say" something that will be overtly CONTRADICTORY to the evidence. That would be lying. On the record Obstructing.
The only way this don't happen again if for the rogues to go DOWN. Under the bus. In the grave. For the greater good. They earned it.
