Russia will halt power supply to Finland on Saturday due to lack of payment.

According to Reuters, Russian utility Inter RAO will suspend the power supply to Finland due to non-payment since May 6.

quote:

“There is no threat to the adequacy of electricity in Finland,” the grid said, adding that power from Russia accounted for some 10% of Finland’s total power consumption.

“Missing imports can be replaced in the electricity market by importing more electricity from Sweden and partly also by domestic production,” it added.

Isn't this another instance of the seller (Russia) violating the contract by demanding payment in rubles, and the buyer (Finland) refusing to do so?
quote:

its next contract payment with Gazprom comes due and the country refuses to pay in rubles. In late April, Russia cut off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria for refusing to pay in accordance with the Kremlin’s ruble scheme.

I once dated a girl named Grace. Months with no Grace period made us very nervous.

And that is how it is done. If Germany would have been able to say "we are going to take that measly 10% of oil and gas you sell us and shove it up your arse, and then make it damn near impossible for you to do business with the rest of the EU" Russia wouldn't be killing people in Ukraine right now.

Not my circus not my monkey

If it is for lack of payment good for them

If it is because they do not want to supply them energy, good for them

I mean you look out for best interest of your country.

So what do they have in place that can instantly make up for 10% of their fuel needs...."Drill baby drill"?
