Just re listening to the Rush-Hannity interview and Rush said something important. I've heard him say it before.
That the Main Stream Media is calling the political shots for the Dems. That they are laying out the agenda. That the media give the marching orders to the dems, not the other way around.
I think this is important distinction. I have thought the the current liberal media is not the free press but part of the Democratic Party.
So is it reasonable for them to have to register as a political organization?

I'm not sure it's that cut and dry. I believe the Dim Media is the tip of the spear for the Prog/Dim ideology/movement. Working with the Prog/Dim politicians to craft the talking points and narratives. The Prog/Dim politicians are in constant communication with the Dim Media and they help each other to push their warp ideology on impressionable Americans.

I think either you or the OP are on point. It’s definitely much more than just the MSM being the Dem’s lapdog.

I think its more likely that the MSM acts as a constant, up to the minute trial balloon for the Dems than sending marching orders or influencing policy directly.
The Dems see what the 24/7 news cycles are talking about, assume EVERYONE agrees and / or is interested because its being so widely covered, and run with it.

A decade ago liberals would deny the media bias against Republicans. That is no longer the case, they simply reference Fox News.

No need to do that. Just have the FCC undertake regulatory action that bans the bundled sale of channels. Everything must be actively selected a la carte. Or via the "freedom of choice in entertainment" act.

Soros owns 85% of MSM news outlets nationwide. I can believe that he calls the shots, the MSM pushes his agenda and talking points, then the dems spread it politically.

It is neither. Both are pawns. Look at who owns the Media. Literally. Who owns the MSM corporations. The same people also own every one of the Dems. Every last one!

This. The media are beholden to the Dem Pols for "inside sources". The Pols use the media to push narratives, send up trial balloons, etc...… It is insidious coluuushion between liberal entities bent on shaping America to their vision of what it should be, and that is whatever makes them rich, keeps them comfy and warm.
