Tomorrow is two weeks since he died and the show has been nothing every day since but a collection of Rush clips, tributes, and his wife reminiscing. Is this permanent? Are they just doing this until they figure out how they’re going to move forward and who will host the show? I liked Rush and wish he was back too, but this is unlistenable to now.

If the show is going to continue they need to get a host and move on. But I wonder if his wife might not be somewhat of an obstacle in all that. Anyway, I just can’t see this lasting more than a week or two more before listeners and stations start dropping like flies.

This is still a transition time. I think he was just laid to rest today. This won't be permanent.

They just recapped his burial today, so I don’t think it’s for too much longer.

But yea, for the last two weeks it’s felt like the Democrats have gone overdrive in their retardation and we’ve had zero clap back. I don’t mind an hour’s worth of tribute, but there’s bullshite to slap down.

I honestly could see the affiliates being given money from leftist groups to phase the show out and prevent it from being a right wing 3 hour bastion every day. Maybe I’m naive though

You have to believe he had some sort of succession plan for this.

Wouldn’t we have already seen that in effect? This replay show format is terrible tbh and I’d rather even hear a middling talent host a live show instead

Radio has always been the funniest business in the world about how they roll out changes. I agree that it's weirder in this instance, though, just because of the reach and scope of the show.

I think it will be Mark Steyn as the permanent replacement.

Tucker could make more money with Rush's show. Levin might make it. I don't mind Gorka either, but some may find his accent difficult. Bannon? Steyn? I don't know where they'll go.

I think it will be Steyn too, but the last time he hosted it he said something like, “”Yeah, I know some of you want some current commentary instead of tributes and we’ll get to it next segment.” I don’t think he has hosted since.

I just wonder if maybe his widow might be meddling a bit. As his heir, she would be more or less in complete control and she sure has t been shy about being on the radio since Rush died.

Steyn has been my favorite Rush substitute for years.

My guess is that they want Steyn because his ratings are WAY above all other guest hosts. The reason he is not on now is contract negotiations.

Steyn's position:
a. He's never had to handle that daily work schedule on and off the air. Ya gotta pay him.
b. Rush made about 30M a year. Steyn wants it.

EIB position:
a. Your ratings will not match Rush's. Less pay.
b. You sound like a foreigner.

It will take time.

I thought I heard that he was laid to rest last Wednesday. I think because in part CPAC was this past weekend, there is an extra incentive to carry on his legacy. It being in Florida, I am certain he would have spoken at it.

I don’t know what lies forward with the net work but I’m sure that it will change before too long.

Yes I do think this is a bit extraordinary, but then he was an iconic figure in talk radio. Plus I think because of the political times,… It is what it is.

They need someone that is easy to listen to. Rush had a great voice that was easy to listen to. Mark Steyn does not. Tucker or O'Reilly would be my pick.

O'Reilly already had a radio show. It was horrible.

Rush was the show.

That being said, as much as we all miss Rush it's time to move on.
A lot of stuff going on in the country right now that the show isn't covering.

They should get the Right Brothers to take over.
