The Dallas Cowboys plan to protest during the national anthem before Monday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, per multiple sources.

Nothing has been firmed up and they will likely come to some decision in the locker room. It may not be a coordinated effort. It may just be a few individuals.

One player said, “We have to do something.”

Said another, “It’s not going to be business as usual. He crossed a line. Something will be done.”

"It would look rather unusual if they did not based on how everyone else reacted. While Jason Garrett's initial response on Saturday when asked about that was that he didn't feel the need to address this with his team because he knows who these player are and what they're about and he knows how everyone feels on this topic, this topic's gotten too big. It would be poor management and coaching not to address it going into this game, especially on a national stage.

"I would expect them to do something. You saw a lot of the players lock arms yesterday. [The Cowboys] did the arm-in-arm campaign after the shootings in Dallas of police last year when they opened training camp. I would expect something along those lines. Everyone is talking about showing unity. I would imagine what they do tonight will be something along those lines.

"Also maybe something indicating or stressing action taken. Jerry [Jones] and this organization is very big on [a stance that] you don't just talk about things, you go out and do them. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce some sort of initiative or put the focus on something that they already have in place that they have been working on along these lines to go along with whatever takes place on the field before the game."
