Yet, for those you describe, either ego or selective cognition that's usually associated with the Left prevents them from admitting that had they gotten their way in 2016, instead of a brief respite from it we would now be in the 5th year of this developing dystopia with very few prospects for reversing it.
Pragmatism seems not to be a consideration in their world.
But maybe that's the world too many Repubs are most comfortable in.
As a backwater party that just remains outside of the barricades/areana making lots of pretentious noise and posturing (like they've been doing for the last 6 months), preferring to counterpunch one Leftist victory after the other. Instead of high profile proactive tactics.
It keeps their image pristine, and away from those pesky isms/ists that the Left has used against them so successfully for decades, that invariably cause them to cringe, fold their tents and slink away discreetly leaving the arena/stage to the Left..
