Except they aren’t criticizing his rhetoric, they are celebrating his murder. Pretty clear difference.
Still free speech? Yes. But there’s a lot of things you can say freely that would warrant you losing your job.

I agree with them but its part of an environment they helped foster
You can't only use the cancel culture weapon when its against someone you disagree with.

quote:Exactly. In fact, Charlie Kirk *welcomed* criticism. It's what he did in all those debates. You don't debate someone who agrees with you.
There's a huge difference between disagreeing on an issue (or criticizing rhetoric as Rolling Stone likes to put it) and celebrating that someone has died.
Did Rolling Stone show anyone who got fired for criticizing Kirk? I doubt it. They got fired for celebrating murder, and/or wishing murder on someone for simply having a different opinion.
Stating the obvious: Rolling Stone editors are idiots.

Perfectly put.

quote:I never implied that. I was referring to those who will deservedly lose their jobs for ghoulishly celebrating his murder on social media.
Kirk never said anything that should have led to him being shot.
His assassination was not a consequence of publicly espousing his ideas, it was an affirmation that the truth of his words are hated in rotten hearts.

Perfect example of propaganda. It's not criticism of his opinions, he openly encouraged that. It's the gleeful joy at murder.
These people are monsters, every one.

Before there was reddit.com and democratic underground... there was Rolling Stone. They should have been labeled hate speech long ago; lost their funding and died off in obscurity.

Someone should respond to their tweet with that pic

The comments to that article aren't going the way Rolling Stone wants them to go.

No one is losing a job for disagreeing with Charlie Kirk.
They are, RIGHTFULLY, losing their jobs for celebrating the cold-blooded murder of a human being.
I know I wouldn't want to work with someone I know supported murder. That tells me that person is emotionally unstable.
