Well this is hypocrisy in its highest order.

quote:

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough says Trump is 'antithesis' of Bible's teachings in wake of Evangelical survey

It’s doubtful President Trump thinks Joe Scarborough is a heavenly host.

Scarborough, whose cup has previous runneth over with critiques of the president, took things to a biblical level during a discussion regarding Evangelical support of Trump during “Morning Joe” on Tuesday.

“Evangelical Christians remain loyal to this man, and again, there is nothing consistent with the teachings of Jesus — and when I say nothing, I mean absolutely nothing. The Beatitudes, and the Sermon on the Mount, especially the story of the Good Samaritan.

“You can look for all of the red letters in your King James New Testament bible and you will see that Donald Trump– way he lives and the policies he pursues is the antithesis of those red words."

Scarborough continued: “You talk about Matthew 25, that’s not something Jesus just coughed and threw that out, that is the center of what Jesus does. His disciples asked him, ‘How do we get to Heaven, how do we sit on the right hand of the Father,’ and Jesus said, ‘Give a cup of water in the master’s name, feed the hungry, clothe the naked.’ It’s basically, bring comfort to those who need comfort and hope to the hopeless.

“You look at that, which is basically the cornerstone of Jesus’ ministry… the fact Donald Trump still is saying he does not need to be forgiven by Jesus Christ and he’s never once needed to be, it is the antithesis of everything.

"So why do seven in 10 Evangelicals still support him? If you are saying judges, that sort of sounds a lot like somebody who is trying to gain the world but lose their own soul.”

Ye without sin, cast the first stone. It ain't you Joe.

Excuse me if I don't take the religious opinions of a man that murdered an intern very seriously

Just what we need: a sermon from an adulterous murderer.

He also says “Give a man a fish and he is full for a day. Teach a man to fish and he is full for life.” One way is a temporary fix, and the other is to set them up for life. Trump is creating jobs to set people up for life

Trump is no devout Christian but he is a better friend to evangelicals than the party of the third trimester abortion

Great quote, but it was Tsu who said it.

Sorry, I'm an obsessive nit picker.

These are the two options...

a) Side A will put judges in place that may reverse infanticide and will likely continue to uphold the right to religious freedom.

b) Side B are hostile to religious freedom and support infanticide.

You can talk about how unchristian Trump is (and he is), but stop overlooking the most crucial issues for many Christians. If you believe abortion at 38 weeks is murder, which most Christians do, all the while Democrats are rejoicing in the streets about murdering 38 week old babies... yeah I think that might push Evangelical support to Trump.

I wish someone would of been there to ask him about Saul and how God took him from being someone who consented to the death of Stephan and transformed him into Paul.

Bible is filled with instances where God uses failed people.

I think Joe's comments reflect more about his level of faith than they do about Trump's beliefs.

I love how liberals will use verses from the Bible to promote welfare and open borders but all that stuff about sin, specifically murder and homosexuality, is outdated.
