How does on go about having zero experience in business?

At any rate since you have such a broad and deep understanding of business and manufacturing why don't you take a stab at 'splaining how it is that a production cost increase means it is possible to pass those increased costs onto consumers? Then explain how, were this the case, it is necessary to manage costs at all since regardless of how high they are you simply pass them onto consumers with no ill side effects.

What's that? You say if costs exceed the price consumers are willing to pay then you're shite out of luck? Well lookey lookey cookie cookie....someone does realize that an increase in production costs does not mean you can necessarily raise prices to consumers....and agrees with my point completely....just because production costs go up there is no expectation that prices go up as well....if a product or service is priced appropriately there is not a lot you can do to up the price...that's what management manages...hell if you could simply pass on all costs no matter how high to consumers eerybody'd be in bidness!
