Why??? This should effectively end the investigation and shouldn't even need Trump to fire anyone. The only thing I can see is they know there is a lot more and they will eventually push for a special council into DNC and HRC. They don't want to link this because it will kill the bigger story that's coming.
The Dems want it to continue also. Can't figure that out.

The argument is we have a problem as a country with the stuff going on. Getting a FISA warrant based on a false dossier and having investigators of the FBI with severe conflicts of interests and stated goal of targeting someone they are investigating is a real problem. Does not matter which party is in charge or which party the target is from or supports.
There is a much bigger issue here. A republican nominee was the target this time, next time it could easily be a democrat nominee. Need to clean house and restore faith.

What if the reason no evidence of collusion has been revealed is because the investigation found none and is instead turning to the corruption in the Obama administration? Why would we want to shut that down?

They need to let the investigation play out. If they called for the end it would be bad politics in the eyes of the public. In other words they would be doing the same thing they accused Hillary of doing.
Best thing they can do is continue doing what they are doing and discret as many people, who cause the investigation into Trump, as possible. If they can convince the public that it is a political witch hunt. Trump will be untouchable.
