Who are our “Gaetz” “Jordan” etc of the Senate? We need to go in dry.

Cruz.
I think Kennedy wants to join the party.
ETA: Graham is perfectly capable but I think he will hold back.

I don't think he will. Remember how pissed off he got during the Kavanaugh hearings. He's pretty even keeled until you start fricking with the basic foundations of our government.
This mockery of an impeachment is going to have him furious.

Cruz and Kennedy are the republicans best hope.
A boy named Lindsey inspires zero confidence... still waiting on him to follow through on other promises.
Tell Rand Paul this involves auditing the fed in some way and maybe he will get fired up about it.

Rand and his daddy have hated these people longer than Trump. This will be his moment to expose the very things these Deep State cretins called his daddy a kook for claiming.

So I think the Senate just sits and listens. No hounds are necessary. Democrats are the prosecutors and Trump has to have a group of attorneys for his defense. So senators sit and listen and pass judgement and likely without comment.

The wet dreams about what a Senate trial will look like will go unfulfilled I promise you.
Get prepared to puke over the descriptions of the serious Senate and how the Senate will have to take this so seriously.
Anyone wanting this Senate trial is a fool.
Senate Republicans are not Trump Republicans and they just became the most powerful group of people in the world.
Trump is in more trouble than some are willing to admit.
Hopefully Trump understands that he should not, for even a second, believe Senate Republicans have his back.
He better be looking for the knives. This is going to be a fight and not with Democrats.

I've heard that it is possible even without conviction, the Senate can extract a pound of flesh from Trump. For example they can make him cancel any tariffs under implied threat of removal. Actually the Republicans Senators become the power brokers. And I agree they may be tired of Trump. And I agree also he is in more trouble than some are willing to admit.

Watch out for Josh Hawley.....he is mutha fricka as well as Tom Cotton and Johnson from Wisconsin.

I would add Grassley to that list. Ol' Chuck Wagon has been in DC long enough to remember how things are supposed to be. Plus I don't think he is as corrupt as say Lindsey is.
Chuck is a long-time DC guy who has remained (mostly) out of the swamp.
He was pretty vocal at times on the Kavanaugh hearings as well.

during the proceeding it will be Gaetz, Jordan etc, cause the Senate is the Jury. The Jury that sets the rule, but the Jury none the less.
Senate stays quiet

Again, I'll point you to the Kavanaugh hearings. The Republican Senators are tired of this democrat bullshite. This isn't going to be about Trump. This is going to be about the democrats' joke of an impeachment, and the damage it's doing to Congress as a whole.

It's not a hearing. It's a trial. There are no committee chairmen with a gavel or a microphone. Chuck will sit and listen. You guys have to get this Republican Senators are going to set this thing right out of your head. I guess we need to go back to the records of the Andrew Johnson trial as the example. But I don't think the R Senators are going to do anything in the trial. They won't ask questions. That will be the democrat prosecutors and Trump's attorneys. When I've served as a juror I've never spoken up much less asked a question.
Oh and Bill Clinton

Trump is not in trouble. Not even a hint of trouble.
2/3rds of the Senate will have to vote to remove Trump and that is NOT happening no matter how you look at it.
It just isn't.
