Q: Congressman, I want to start with something Chairman Nunes of the committee said. He suggested that some private citizens had been unmasked as a part of a surveillance effort. If, in fact, that were true, that would be a big deal, wouldn’t it?
This begs the question, what intelligence was being sought after for the unmasking of names to be necessary. Remember, Nunes said these communications had nothing to do with Russia

A: Well, it all depends.
There are perfectly appropriate circumstances to unmask the names of people. In fact, that is done quite often. And the standard is whether the unmasking of those names is necessary to determine the significance of the intelligence.
This begs the question, what intelligence was being sought after for the unmasking of names to be necessary. Remember, Nunes said these communications had nothing to do with Russia

It also suggests that everyone is immediately unmasked to determine the "Significance" of the conversation.
Everyone I am sure remembers the Greek Saying found in the ruins:
Who will watch the Watchers - I am questioning if we should dump the Patriot Act in total

There are people to whom one can experience an instant, visceral, intuitive reaction and yes, this man reads as a snake. The eyes, body language, and voice all reinforce "shifty" - he is aptly named

Exactly as i said democrats would.
They have absolutely no problem with the idea of the party in power using government against the opposition.
Well. I mean. Now they'd have a problem with it........

The bar for doing so against the opposition party during an election should be high.
VERY frickING HIGH.
Like, absurdly high.
If anyone on either side can't comprehend why that is, they're idiots

This is the problem with a perpetual surveillance state.
The information is always available.
That's just REALLY tempting for politicians.
Hell. Schumer practically gloated over acquiring Romneys returns.
And, i have no doubt that given the opportunity, plenty of Republicans would give in to the temptation also.
The good of doing it is just TREMENDOUSLY outweighed by the dangers

So now he is admitting they did exactly what Trump said they did, which they ridiculed him for, but since they got caught, it is okay?
Man, these people redefine scum downward every day.
