Those answers are horrifying. Modern progressivism is no different than religious fundamentalism. It consumes people's lives and having a different belief set amounts to apostasy and therefore makes someone less human, or not human at all. The tenets of progressive politics have become their God, and they are willing to alienate their own family for refusal to worship at the altar of the state.

I know a lot of people who despised Obama. They would never, not in a million years, have treated a family member like that solely because that person voted for Obama.

I've found stuff like this comes around to bite those who practice it.
