Realize Most Don’t Care About Soccer But Atlanta & Miami Took The Field Then Walked Off

8 PM match. Cancelled.
Teams took the field, virtue signaled for 30 minutes, then walked off.
Match cancelled.
This is a league that earlier overruled it’s own written policy of not allowing political banners at games and stated that they would allow fans to wave antifa banners in Seattle and Portland while at the same time upholding their ban on the Betsy Ross flag.
From twitter.

I agree it's like a virus for morons.

I know MLS used to be propped up by the NFL, but revenue isn't exactly robust for this league.

Factually incorrect on all accounts.

There is a subtle difference between not caring and being totally unaware of its existence.

Professional athletes supporting a dude that sexually assaulted a minor and beat his wife’s arse on multiple occasions is so heroic.

What league is the next to say “Hold my fagaccino”?
Will the NFL cancel a practice over this?

I don't think many people would call that robust.
quote:
Per Forbes, in 2018, the 23 teams that played in MLS combined for a $100 million loss. More concerningly, only seven turned a profit, and of those seven, three were by $1 million. Atlanta United made the highest profit in 2018 at just $7 million. As a league, MLS is losing money.
I don't think many people would call that robust.

Why don’t you link the rest of the article?
quote:
Forbes has estimated that SUM generates annual revenues of some $350 million, and it’s profitable, too; last year the property distributed $125 million to league owners. In 2017, SUM was valued at $2 billion after MLS bought out the stake owned by Providence Equity Partners (SUM is now wholly owned by the league’s investors). Although SUM dividends aren’t included in the teams’ operating revenues, they go a long way toward explaining why MLS franchises cost so much; in fact, the league’s least-valuable teams derive nearly half their total value from their stake in SUM.
The league is expanding, tv deals end in 2022, domestic World Cup in 2026, and the value of each team is skyrocketing.
And, nfl has nothing to do with MLS.

They can figure they were irrelevant before. Now there should be no doubt.

Can't watch the Mavs, can't watch the rangers, can't watch FC Dallas, the NFL folded long ago, that rules out the Cowboys.
College football is all I've got left.
