Trump needs to name his nominee TODAY and hammer that the "queen" was confirmed in less time than what is remaining before the election.

He also needs to stress that the Court's new term starts IN FIFTEEN DAYS and he is hard pressed to believe Ginsburg would want the Court to be hamstrung for the first months of its term (he can cite her prior statement regarding Garland's nomination and the importance of a full Court).

I'm not sure he needs to stress anything. Nominate and let the confirmation happen. The Republican voters put him and the Senate in place in 2016 for this very act. Now it's time to just get it done.

His message is to the weak-kneed Senate Republicans.

Agree but fewer things are more important and supported by the Republican overall voting party than this very issue.

Hillary threatening the presidential election should help move this forward. Another example of these aholes getting emotional and opening things up for conservatives. They never think ahead.

True...45 days til election day, but 4-5 months until the next president is seated, be that Trump or Biden. Same for congress. So, plenty of time.

I think Trump will win. But in your hypothetical, if he loses that changes things and I’m not sure he would get a confirmation post election.

There’s no way they’re going to get this through before Election Day. If you thought the Democrats were bad about Kavanaugh....
