Main reason it won’t pass is because Rand is taking the lead. Despite being a senator for the deceased.

The main arguments against are it provides the subject an opportunity to dispose of contraband and/or allows the subject an opportunity to arm themselves. FWIW

A great first step for rolling back the Police State that respects the principles of limited government....next up:
1. End the Federal War On Drugs®.
2. End qualified immunity for LEO.
3. Abolish unions for any public sector employees.
4. No taxpayer payout for a police convicted of a crime — the cops guilty of police brutality or wrongful death will be responsible for their crimes — not taxpayers.

I'm not crazy about federal dictates for local law enforcement, even when I agree with the purpose behind the law.
