Having received assurances from President Trump and Director Pompeo that he agrees with the President on these important issues, I have decided to support his nomination to be our next Secretary of State.

Good. Pompeo should've proven to everyone with his trip to NK that he's up to the task.

Nobody is, but he's still the closest thing to him in the Senate. Amash is the closest to Ron Paul in the House.

The 3 Democrat crossovers, who will vote conformation, made Paul's temper tantrum a moot point.

Paul just saved himself from looking like a colossal arse wipe.

Rand’s dad was a buffoon of a politician.

If by buffoon you mean honest and unwavering in his principles. I guess that does make him a bit eccentric, unlike professional politicians in the mold of Mitt Romney and Miss Lindsey.

How is one honest politician in D.C. supposed to accomplish anything when 95% of Congress are liars and thieves? Paul was the only consistent voice in Congress calling for sound money, massive budget cuts, an end to our warmongering overseas and respect for privacy and civil liberties. And as far as accomplishing nothing, I would argue his campaigns in 2008 and 2012 woke a lot of people up to the reality that the establishment Republicans weren't conservatives at all. I imagine many conservative posters on this board are far more libertarian in their beliefs than they were in 2007.
