I just paid $300 for two tickets to see the Stones in Austin Memorial Day weekend.

They don’t get political (at least they didn’t in New Orleans) and I can all but promise that in spite of all being 20-25 years older than the members of Rage, put on a better show.

Nah, they're awesome. See how easy that is?

The truth is is it's art. It's a subjective thing. People can disagree.

They were a great band that made great music. I never liked their anti-American message but if you can overlook that the music is top notch.

Hijack....
Tool just played in NOLA and I saw two tickets on Stubhub on the floor for $700 each. How many Tool fans have that much laying around unless they are covered up in tats?

I've always been a fan of their music, not their politics, which I just ignored.

They were awesome when I saw them at Jazz Fest, in around 1995.

Saw them at UNO lakefront in Dec 1999. They fricking jammed. Great show.

My former sig quote was "Learn to Swim".

ETA - No highjack - Loved RATM from when I first heard them but NEVER agreed with those crazy arse Anti-America views.

They got rich off of American opportunity and their hard work, yet they seem to love this Commie Propaganda BS.

I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I saw the music video for Sober. It was totally unique. The sounds, the video, all of it.

I've never really considered them one of my "favorite" bands, because sometimes the music is a little heavy. It requires me to be in a certain mood to listen to it, but man, they knock it out of the park. Great fricking band.

Roger Waters is the same way. Rails on capitalism his entire show; wants $80 for a t-shirt.

Jesse Waters has a commie brother?

Tool fan here, zero tats and money enough for tickets. But I've seen them half a dozen times over the years, not going this tour.

It is amazing that they are still touring. They've been together and touring for nearly 60 years!

My point wasn't as much about the age of the musician, it is more about the content of the lyrics and the price that they are charging to hear them.

Tom Morello is probably one of the best metal/fusion guitarists in my lifetime- IMO.

Disagree, they have a unique sound and lyrics. You don't have to agree with the message to appreciate the creativity.

I was there. Awesome show. Not on floor, and got tickets for free.

He's a master level guitarist. Are there better guitarists? Yes. But not many.
