Every male member of my in-laws fits this description of being a "southern white male." In the nearly 10 years I have been romantically involved with the wonderful woman who became my wife and the mother of my son, NOT ONCE has overt or covert racism ever been a problem.

Meanwhile, MY OWN EXTENDED FAMILY, from both the north and the south, have almost all exhibited some form of blatant or passive aggressive racism towards me or my wife or both of us since we've been together. My own grandparents haven't spoken to me since I took her hand in marriage. Haven't even called to check in on their ONLY great grandson because his mother isn't black.

On the other hand, my wife's grandfather literally let me drive his expensive arse car around a town I didn't know, 5 minutes after meeting me for the first time.

frick racist pieces of shite like Don Lemon. People like him are the main reason racism is kept alive in this country at this point, and I, for one, am fricking sick of it.
