re: Rachel Brand (Associate AG) is leaving the DoJ
You guys know she was a Trump appointee and has been there all of nine months, right. There was speculation no here not a week ago that Trump was preparing to fire Rosenstein and elevate her to deputy.

Interested to see what her motivations were.

Oh, I didn't know she was on the PCLOB. Still wouldn't have had anything to do with the Clinton investigation though.

The PCLOB is tasked with advising the President on information gathering, including FISA. Now, she may have no knowledge of FISA abuse under Obama or maybe she does?

As far as I know the IG probe is about the handling of the Clinton investigation, not about FISA.

You don’t think Trump takes advice from other people for these types of appointments? She’s been in the system since the Bush years.

Maybe she's competent if so many people of different political persuasions kept her around in high level positions.

Just a thought.

Yes, but FISA has steadily been getting more press here lately. However, I doubt the Obama admin went to the board and asked for advice on the Page or related FISA applications. I have no clue as to how active of a role, if any, the board had in reviewing individual FISA. More than likely, she just wanted out. She might have any number of reasons to not want the SC investigation dropped in her lap (that is assuming Rod is leaving but he might be staying).

If it were not so important, it would be laughable just how bumbling and inefficient this administration is.

The abrupt DOJ resignations are precursors to them turning states’ witness. Resign and testify or be indicted, these are small fish, the targets are Obama, Holder, Lynch, Comey, McCabe (who most likely is already under secret grand jury indictment) Samantha Power is also already under indictment.
